Essential Functions:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver courses within specified time constraints as per the curriculum, ensuring students receive standards-based education aligned with educational requirements and their needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans, regularly assessing and adjusting based on student achievement.
  • Deliver course content using various instructional methods that cater to multiple learning styles.
  • Document student progress and achievements, maintaining accurate records, grading assignments promptly, and submitting grades to the Registrar at the end of each grading period.
  • Monitor individual student talents, abilities, and challenges, providing assistance when needed to enhance learning skills and project completion.
  • Foster positive self-esteem and individual development in students across physical, social, emotional, and cognitive aspects.
  • Establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
  • Interface with colleagues and school administrative staff to ensure consistency with the school's educational philosophy and goals.
  • Attend required in-service training, conferences, staff meetings, and parent/guardian meetings.
  • Compile and report statistical data demonstrating student and school progress.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to create a conducive learning environment.
  • Maintain equipment and materials in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring neat and orderly classrooms and storage areas.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have Highly Qualified credentials and hold a bachelor's degree in the relevant subject area or have a bachelor's degree with 24-plus semester hours of study in the appropriate subject area.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Commitment to teamwork and establishing effective working relationships.
  • Willingness to consistently display a positive attitude and uphold the agency's positive image, providing high-quality, effective customer service in all communication.
  • Continuous engagement in learning and developing new skills and approaches.
  • Utilization of positive youth development practices in all work levels.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth is a plus. Bilingual and bi-cultural skills are advantageous.
  • Ability to be flexible as specific tasks may change with the evolution of the program.
  • Acceptance of individual differences in people.
  • Awareness of one's capabilities and limitations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in standards-based education and training, including curricula integration and alternative teaching strategies.

  • Background check includes reference checks, employment, education, and criminal background searches.
  • Email verification with the Arizona Department of Education's Investigations Unit for any ongoing investigation or unresolved issues.
  • ACYR is an at-will employer, and any offer of employment is contingent upon a successful completion of the background check.

Certification/Licenses/Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Valid Arizona State Teacher's Certification (9-12) in the appropriate subject area
  • Valid Arizona Identity Verification Print Card (Fingerprint Clearance Card)
  • NES/AEPA Content Certificate
  • Copy of complete transcripts
