Job Description:

Middle School ELA Teacher for the 26-27 School Year
Center for Academic Success - Douglas
Reports to: Principal
Job Classification: Exempt
Position Type: This is a full time, 10-month position. Monday through Friday. Standard days and hours of work are 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Start Date: The anticipated start date for this position is July 2026. Applicants must be available to begin on or after this date.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Design, develop, and deliver quality lesson plans and curricula that align with state and school guidelines.
  • Create and administer assessments, providing constructive feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs and interests of students.
  • Provide additional resources, support, and interventions for students who are struggling.
  • Foster a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing concerns.
  • Administer standardized achievement tests.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records.
  • Commit to ongoing professional growth provided by CAS and/or outside agencies.
  • Enforce all administration policies and rules governing students.
  • Ensure the safety of all students.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required at time of hire)
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Employer does not sponsor employment-based visas.
  • Fluent in English; written and oral communication.
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License

Physical Demands
Standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and carrying classroom materials, bending and stooping to interact with students, reaching to hang materials, and using writing and typing extensively. Teachers must also be able to manage the classroom environment, respond to emergencies, and communicate effectively through speaking and listening.

Travel: Occasional travel may be required.
