Job Description:
To administer and lead an educational program that provides eligible students with a specialized alternative learning environment designed to support academic achievement, positive behavior development, and emotional regulation.
Establishes and maintains a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment for all students and staff. Promotes the development of behavioral, social, and self-regulation skills needed for students to successfully transition to a less restrictive setting. Ensures ongoing academic progress through the use of differentiated instruction, evidence-based practices, effective curriculum, and targeted interventions aligned to individual student needs. Supports other campuses and behavior programs by ensuring consistency and effectiveness across services. Provides ongoing special education support to the Director of Special Education, adapting to evolving needs and priorities.
The Assistant Director serves as a key administrator in the Special Education department, responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, and compliant educational environment that meets the diverse social and behavior needs for students within the Litchfield Elementary School District.
